Case Study: Informing the future design of a whole function for a leading multinational pharma
Challenge: The global head of function for a large pharma received feedback from their counterparts, which indicated the need for better communication across divisions, notably at the country level. We were engaged in running an external benchmarking exercise to understand how the competition would address this specific challenge.
Our approach: Using the basic blocks of a target operating model, our team framed the issue and designed a comprehensive interview guide to explore all model dimensions, e.g., reporting lines and governance, collaboration frameworks, roles and responsibilities (RACI), etc.
We conducted a series of structured interviews with former senior leaders in similar organizations and with internal stakeholders.
Result: With the research completed, we were able to lay out a set of options for our client to contemplate and prioritize. Additionally, the exercise produced valuable feedback for our client’s team and partners with whom they interacted.
